Environment can refer to a broad spectrum of areas, but in the context of sustainability, it is all the external conditions that effect an organism or other specified system during its lifetime.
External conditions found in nature include air, water and climate systems, and can impact living things, such as: humans, animals, plants, sea creatures and microscopic organisms, as well as non-living things, that occur naturally on earth.
