Biodiesel

12 Feb

An alternative fuel made from vegetable oil that can be used in diesel engines. Biodiesel is a clean-burning, renewable fuel that is created by combining methanol or ethanol with any type of vegetable oil, such as canola or soybean oil, as well as animal fat. Biodiesel is sometimes combined with diesel petroleum to decrease costs and ensure that the biodiesel does not congeal in colder climates. The use of biodiesel results in a reduction of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, particulate matter, and other cancer-causing compounds.
